Daily Flash

365 Days of Flash Fiction

Compiled & Edited by Jessy Marie Roberts

Send Submissions To: flash@pillhillpress.com

Daily Flash 2011 is an anthology of 365 flash fiction stories, each assigned a calendar day, offering readers an opportunity to enjoy one story per day—even with a hectic schedule.

Pill Hill Press is actively seeking FLASH FICTION, 500 words or less (firm). Most genres of speculative fiction are welcome (including, but not limited to: horror, science fiction & fantasy). Please, no erotica.

PLEASE EMBED THE STORY/STORIES INTO YOUR EMAIL SUBMISSION (COPY & PASTE INTO EMAIL) -- NO ATTACHMENTS, PLEASE. Include your contact information (Name, Address, Email Address, etc.) in your email.

The Submission Period is OPEN UNTIL FILLED. Expected response time is under one month (please query if you have not received a response within 30 days).

Reprints welcome (as long as you have the rights back to your story). Please include mention of when/where the story was previously published.

Multiple Submissions (up to 2stories per author) are accepted.

This is a FOR THE LOVE project. Author will receive exposure ONLY. No monetary compensation, No contributor's copy. Please include a 2-3 sentence biography (written in third person, including your author's website, if you care to include it) at the end of your story.

I'm posting the Daily Flash call for submissions here before I post in on my website and/or send the information to duotrope.com or ralan.com -- I want to make sure my call makes sense! If you have any questions about this project, please post here so I can sort out any confusion.

I would like to have this anthology filled and published by December 2010.

This is the first (and probably ONLY) project PHP has ever offered that doesn't provide contributor's copies to the authors... I wish I could afford to send out potentially 365 contributor's copies, but the truth is, I can't... This is FOR THE LOVE and open until filled...

I've read on this forum that most of our author's prefer deadlines -- as this is a very large project (looking for 365 stories), I thought the Open Until Filled format worked better for this project. All other projects will continue to have deadlines.

Definitely a unique call and I can understand the OUF in this particular case. LOL
The call made perfect sense to me and 500 words is not too much to ask for the exposure of having our name and website out there once again.
I'll try to get something together and send soon.

I'm going to try to write something for this. If you don't get a submission from me, you'll know that my determination to write LONG stories has succeeded. Ha, as one who only used to write flash, I might have gone too far. LOL

Ah cool, I'll try to get stuff sent in. I never thought you'd go ahead and actually do a flash fic anthology.

I've submitted a story, and there's plenty more to sub if it doesn't make it in.

Woo-Hoo, Thanks Jessy. And that was fast.
Do you see a similar thread in my stories??? LOL
That's where I put all my inner frustrations.
I write the best ones when I'm angry at my Hubby.
